About

Brandon Tai is an SF-based musician and computational artist working at the intersection of technology, creativity, and human connection. He has a background in mathematics & engineering research at Stanford & UCLA, driven throughout by a focus on accessibility and real-world impact.

Rooted in 14 years of classical guitar performance, he organizes music collectives, performs live algorithmic music, and hosts creative technology workshops and lectures. He is currently a resident artist at Gray Area in San Francisco, working on generative interfaces for musical performance.

He is drawn to interfaces that open up more intuitive, expressive relationships with sound than traditional tools allow: systems that unlock creativity in new ways, bring people together in physical spaces, and honor music as something deep and inseparable from what it means to be human.
